Goals and Expectations Meetings

I will be holding a meeting for all dancers this year to discuss your dancer’s goals and expectations for the 2024.2025 Dance Year. This is not a mandatory meeting, it is just for those who would like to discuss their dancer's goals and what they hope to achieve from classes this year. Parents and dancers are welcome to attend to discuss expectations for this year.

All goals will be kept in your dancer’s file and will be worked on throughout each class. As your dancer reaches their goals, new goals will be set. We will have a goal board in each room to monitor each dancer’s progress. Parents will have access to all goals sheets in order to see how your dancer is progressing throughout the year.

I will speak with your dancer to determine what they would like to gain out of this year of dance. For example:

1. Does your dancer want to make their high school dance team?

2. Does your dancer want to work toward getting on Pointe?

3. Does your dancer need to build his or her confidence?

4. Does your dancer want to make new friends?

5. Does your dancer want to learn certain tricks, turns or leaps?

If you’re new to dance:

1. We will discuss your dancer’s goals, why they want to begin dance and what they hope to be able to execute by the end of the year.

If your dancer has danced in the past:

1. We will discuss which styles they enjoy, where they would like to improve, their goals for the future and their expectations for the dance year.

Throughout our meeting, we will determine the classes that will help your dancer reach his or her goals. Your dancer’s goals sheet will be available the first day of Fall session. You are able to monitor it throughout the year to see how your dancer is progressing.
